FAQ

Pool Fencing Frequently Asked Questions

Does glass pool fencing meet Australian Standards for safety as well as council requirements?

Glass pool fencing supplied by Edge Water Glass Solutions either meets or exceeds Australian Standards and all of our material is engineer approved and accredited by NATA (National Association of Testing Authorities, Australia).

Are the glass panels strong?

Our frameless glass pool fencing panels are 12mm toughened glass. It’s highly unlikely that a panel will break, we’ve never had to replace a panel of glass on any residential property.

Who installs the glass pool fence?

At Edge Water, we only use full time employees to install your new pool fence. Our factory trained staff are not subcontractors, they are fulltime dedicated glass pool fencing installers.

Are the glass pool gates secure for children?

Our self-closing and self-latching glass pool gates, meet Australian Standards and will protect your children from entering the pool area unsupervised.

Does glass pool fencing require maintenance?

Glass pool fencing is very low in maintenance. It requires occasional cleaning to maintain its clear appearance. If choosing the stainless steel spigots, they also will require an occasional clean to maintain the shine.

What is the minimum height for a pool fence?

The minimum height is 1200mm above ground level. All of our glass sheets are pre-cut at 1200mm so the finished height will always be compliant.

How long do I have to wait for my glass pool fence?

We are Adelaide’s glass pool fencing specialists and we stock a HUGE range here in Adelaide. We have thousands of pool fencing panels on our factory floor ready to go. How long does installation of the pool fence take?

Usually, we can complete the pool fence installation in one business day.

How thick are your glass pool gates?

We use an 8mm glass gate, tested and designed to lessen the weight. 8mm glass gates are standard in the industry, we do offer 12mm glass gates but only with Polaris Hydraulic soft close.

What standard panels do you stock?

Being Adelaide’s Glass Pool Fencing Specialists, we stock a huge range from 300mm through to 2000mm wide panels, generally increasing in increments of 50mm.

Can I put my gate anywhere?

In most cases you can. At Edge Water Glass Solutions we pride ourselves on being the Adelaide’s glass pool fencing specialists, so we stock Australia’s largest hinge panel range with 15 different sized hinge panels, allowing more options for placement of your pool gate.

Do you do custom glass panels if required?

Custom glass panels can be made in order to gain compliance over a potential stepping hazard. These panels can be expensive, so consult your glass pool fencing specialist for advice on how to avoid this extra cost.

What stainless steel spigots do you use?

We only use the highest grade material on our pool fences. Our stainless steel spigots are Duplex 2205 and are far superior in all aspects to 316 or 316L that may be provided by other suppliers.

What are you not responsible for whilst installing our pool fence?

We are not responsible for underground services such as water, telecom, gas and other utility pipes. It is the responsibility of the owner to inform us of their location prior to work. Dial before you dig may be useful if you are unsure of the location of those services.

All care will be taken not to disturb or damage any garden or plants during the installation process, however this may occur due to working in tight locations with heavy, awkward materials.

No responsibility will be taken with boundary lines unless surveyor’s pegs are provided and confirm with the owner of exact location.

How do we pay?

Once the job is complete, direct deposit is the preferred method.
